The anchor rope on a ship must be kept neatly coiled lest it becomes underfoot and in the way. An anchor is an important tool and instrument for the ship. Yet without the rope, it doesn’t work. Proper care and attention must be given to keep the rope from being entangled so that the time to drop anchor can expediently be accomplished. The hazards of an unkept rope are many but in the process of dropping anchor, the greater is that we don’t get tangled! Being entangled in the anchor rope will not just trip you but easily cause you to taken overboard!
Hope in Christ is our anchor of the soul (Hebrews 6:19). In the midst of our daily relationship, it is important that we work to keep our hope from being untangled. Hope in place will keep you ready for whatever storm we may face!
