Bible Quizzing

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” —Psalm 119:11

Scripture memorization is one of the most beneficial spiritual disciplines our students can develop. Deuteronomy 6 gives us clear instruction that the Word of God should be in our hearts, and to “repeat them again and again…talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” (Deut 6:7 NLT)

Bible Quizzing gives students a structured curriculum for memorizing scripture, and a fun, competitive environment to test their knowledge and improve their memorization skills. Quizzing also keeps students engaged on the local church level, in Christian Education and school competition, and culminates each year in a Bible Quizzing tournament.

Below you’ll find the information you need to start a Bible Quizzing at our church, and t equip your children with the enormous benefits—comfort, guidance, instruction, prosperity, health, wealth, and wisdom—that are inextricably linked with knowledge of God’s Word.

First and foremost – PRAY! If you are a young person with a desire to quiz, without the direction of the Lord, our steps are sure to slide. If you feel you have the burden to quiz or lead a group of young people through the journey of Bible quizzing and you have prayed, now is the time to speak to our pastor.

Please do not think only “smart” kids can do this. That is not the purpose of Bible quizzing.  The main goal of Bible quizzing is to get the most kids to learn the most verses. God honors the time put forth to learning His Word and He will bless every effort.

Beginner Quizzers are 3 years old to 8 years old. Junior Quizzers are 9 years olds to 11 years old. An Intermediate quizzer must be at least 12 years old to 14 years old or first year quizzer.
